Tubestation is Polzeath’s community charity, and the acclaimed surf lounge opened to the public in July 2007. Its main purpose is to be a great place to come for the local community – through the week, all year round. (The all-year-round part is important when you live in a seasonal place like Polzeath).

Geared up to be as multifunctional as the space will allow, the surf lounge has a café which in 2016 was voted Red Bull’s No.1 Surf Cafe in the UK and Ireland, as well as having a solid five stars on Trip Advisor.

Tubestation has its own ‘Good Taste Award’ Gold-winning coffee roast – ‘Tube Time’ – produced by our friends Hands On Coffee. We also serve Tregothnan leaf teas grown right here in Cornwall. The kitchen offers home made soups of the day, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit smoothies and shakes, home made scones, cakes and cream teas all made right here in our kitchen.

It serves the best home made and locally sourced produce which is organic where possible. Where food or drink has to be imported, such as coffee or chocolate, it is always Fair Trade, ensuring we have the best guarantee possible that it has been ethically produced. Everything we sell has a story, and every penny of profit we make is put back into the charity. This helps us to stay open through the lean winter months for the benefit of the community.

But the REALLY COOL THING is that you don’t have to eat or drink anything we sell; in fact you can bring your own, and we recommend all the other local eateries – buy it there, eat it here!

The Surf Lounge is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and bank holidays. Everybody is welcome.

The Surf Lounge doubles as a versatile venue for loads of different occasions. It has in-house catering and multimedia so it’s proved popular for corporate events and networking, parties and barbeques, fundraisers, gigs, training sessions, meetings and conferences. And because it’s also still a working church and licensed place of worship it makes for an awesome contemporary wedding venue… For bookings or more information please contact the team on: (01208) 869200, or email:
